It’s never been ‘easier’ or ‘cheaper’ to build a website. That’s what you’re supposed to believe.
The fact is most people get it wrong. But they don’t understand how to make it right.
That’s why I’m here. To help you get your website back on the right path.
Or to build you a super-duper new one if you don’t have a website already.
Most people focus on the design. How the website looks. Yes, it needs to look nice and modern, but sometimes the design gets in the way.
Design is a funny word. Some people think design means how it looks. But of course, if you dig deeper, it’s really how it works. – Steve Jobs
Your users are looking for something. That might be information, solutions or to be entertained.
If they find obstacles or ‘friction’, they’ll leave. The web is a very unforgiving space. Google now uses the way people interact with websites as a ranking signal.
If someone clicks on the search result to your website and they immediately click the back button because they didn’t find what they wanted, that’s a negative signal that will affect your search ranking.
Google is getting clever. If you don’t, your website will fail.
Google uses about 200 signals to rank a website, but you only need to focus on a few of them.
It’s the most important. Without content, nothing else matters.
Your content has to answer the questions, provide solutions or entertain. It’s that simple.
It also needs to be presented in an easy to consume way. If you make it hard to find or read, users will bounce back to the search results.
